RALEIGH, N.C. – Longview Baptist Church is a popular destination for worshipers with a long history in the area. In recent years it has experienced a growing membership, which necessitates exciting new changes to its sanctuary. Rufty-Peedin Design Builders has been selected to renovate and expand the sanctuary at Longview Baptist, located at 2308 N. New Hope Church Road in Raleigh. Rufty-Peedin is a commercial contractor specializing in design-build construction of churches, retail, office, community and medical buildings.
“Longview Baptist was established in 1950 and has been in its current location since the mid-90s,” said Steven Peedin, co-founder and president of Rufty-Peedin Design Builders. “They make everyone feel like family walking through the front door, so we’re excited to help them to bring their vision for a remodeled and expanded worship space to reality.”
Construction at the church is currently underway to reconfigure and expand the sanctuary. The remodel has expanded the sanctuary into an adjacent corridor to add seating and feature. The entire space is being rewired with conduit for advanced audio-visual technologies, to create a theatre-like experience. At 20,568 sq. ft. Longview Baptist has experienced strong growth in recent years. Services continue to be held in an adjacent fellowship hall while construction is completed.
