Dave Foell turned to Rufty-Peedin to bring the first Level Red Boxing location to North Carolina.
After retirement, Dave Foell set his sights on opening a Level Red Boxing franchise location in the thriving Raleigh-Durham area. The gym, which offers a full-body workout in only 30 minutes, would need to be in a well-trafficked area and in a space that could accommodate the look and feel dictated by Level Red Boxing’s corporate requirements.
Dave first met with Rufty-Peedin in August 2018, and he knew almost instantly that he’d choose them to help bring the gym to life. He says, “After meeting with the Rufty-Peedin team, I didn’t even entertain other bids, because I could tell that the level of attention that I was going to get from their staff would exceed every expectation I had.”
After choosing a location in Waverly Place, the Rufty-Peedin design team immediately hit the ground running. This involved drawing up concepts for the new space, developing budget projections, and ongoing communication with Dave and his partners.
Dave says, “One of the most important things to me was to work with a builder who could take concepts presented by myself and the owners of the franchise and put them into architectural plans that would give us a realistic idea of what the finished product would look like.”
Construction on the building started in early 2019, promptly after approval plans and permits were received. Throughout the entire process, Dave worked with our Project Developer, Adam Zaytoun, who kept Dave updated every step of the way.
He appreciated Adam’s style of communication, saying, “I’m a novice when it comes to coordinating the different aspects of a build out. It meant a lot to me that Adam and the Rufty-Peedin team took a great deal of time and energy to look at every variable and potential scenario, and communicate those to me. They answered every question I had and provided me with timely, accurate updates through every phase of the project, which made it all feel easier than I was expecting.”
For Adam, that’s just part of Rufty-Peedin’s relationship-based approach to every project. “Our team is not just in it for the transaction. I’m here to build relationships with local business leaders, like Dave. I took it personally that his expectations were not only met but exceeded,” he says.
The finished gym, which opened its doors in the Spring of 2019, is everything Dave hoped it would be and more. “It’s exactly how I envisioned it to be only better. When looking at the design concepts and architectural drawings on paper, I had a good idea of what the finished product would look like, but in every facet, the reality exceeds my expectations. They painted a very solid picture of what I’d be getting,” Dave explains.
With the success of this location, Dave has plans to open additional locations in the Triangle, and he knows exactly who to turn to for those projects: “I won’t hesitate to reach out to Rufty-Peedin when I’m ready to start on my next location. They’re the best in the business.”
